Tarallo Design is the font foundry and graphic design studio of Donald Tarallo and associates. The foundry creates original high quality typefaces. Utility, clarity, and good craft are fundamental to every creation, which often emerges of inspiration from art and architecture. Their font catalog ranges from neutral typefaces to versatile and playful ornamental fonts. The studio was founded in 1997 and serves international clients in visual identity design and general graphic design. It operates out of Worcester, Massachusetts in the United States. A little about Don: Spending a large part of his childhood in his grandmother’s ceramic workshop, he became interested in form giving and craft. Eventually he studied art and graphic design in college. Later he studied typography and type design at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland with Andrè Gürtler. This period was influential in his choice to become a typeface designer. He completed his MFA in graphic design from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has worked in Europe and East Asia, which further shaped his thinking about letters and alphabets. His work begins with an idea or a feeling, a pencil or brush on paper, and a belief that approaching design with hands and heart gives work soul.
