'Jumbo Typewriter” is reminiscent of the type of lettering formerly found on teletype news copy.
'Teletype” was a division of Western Electric (part of AT&T), and the machines utilized telephone lines to electronically type and send (as well as receive) messages worldwide.
Many folks will remember the sound of teletype machines in the background when radio stations had their news breaks.
