Buy NowA vintage photograph of the Man at the Wheel Saloon in San Pedro, CA [circa 1895] provided an excellent type design source with the unusual lettering on the bar's sign.
Basically a spurred serif design, the unusual characteristic of the type style is the 'bumps' or 'dots' on the tops of each letter.
This has been redrawn digitally as Beer Joint JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.
