In the April 23, 1932 issue of the Motion Picture Herald was an ad for a series of short subject films called "Operalogues".

The hand-lettered word copy was rendered in a bold thick and thin Art Deco alphabet similar in style to many type designs of the era that drew their inspiration from Morris Fuller Benton's 1927 typeface Broadway, but added their own interpretive character forms to set apart those designs from the original.

This is now available as Theater Audience JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.
