GGX89 is Swiss display typography with the tightening already done.

A general-purpose grotesque has to leave enough space to behave in paragraphs. Blow it up for a launch headline, model name or giant stage graphic and that sensible spacing can suddenly feel cautious. GGX89 starts from the other end of the problem. It was built purely for display, so it has no obligation to behave politely in body copy.

Its dense spacing turns short headlines into compact graphic units, while Regular, Condensed, Compressed and Crammed widths give designers several ways to accommodate different names and phrases without simply shrinking the type. That makes GGX89 especially useful for campaign systems where the wording changes constantly but the visual density needs to remain consistent.

Product launches are a natural fit. Consumer technology, appliances and mobility brands can use GGX89 for model names, feature names and launch phrases across keynote screens, retail walls, trade-show graphics, social cards and video. Automotive campaigns benefit from the width range especially well: a short model name can spread confidently in the regular widths, while longer vehicle, trim or technology names can move into Condensed, Compressed or Crammed without abandoning the same tightly controlled character.

Fashion and footwear campaigns use the same kind of oversized, abbreviated language. Collection names, designer collaborations, sneaker models and campaign phrases often function almost as image. GGX89’s lighter weights can remain tightly packed without becoming heavy, while narrower styles can turn longer names into compact blocks for storefront graphics and launch imagery.

Sports promotion presents a similar practical problem. Athlete names, team matchups, tournament titles and championship graphics vary wildly in length but still have to fit one visual system. GGX89 lets the designer change width rather than repeatedly shrinking or loosening the headline.

Streaming key art, entertainment campaigns, product keynotes and large corporate events all benefit from the same principle: short text set large, where spacing becomes part of the image.

GGX88 was designed to breathe across functional interfaces; GGX89 was designed to pack tightly into display. One handles the information, the other the statement.

GGX89 does not need to be tracked into display typography. It starts there.
