Aesthetics
Its irregular contours and subtle distortions suggest a handmade process, as if each letter were manually cut to form words and then duplicated on a low-quality photocopier to achieve its worn and imperfect look. The character set includes over 2,600 glyphs and a wide range of diacritics, offering full Latin Plus support and covering over 200 Latin-based languages spoken worldwide.

Advanced Contextual Alternates
More than just a typeface with personality, Scusso also includes a powerful contextual alternates feature for maximum typographic expression. Each letter, numeral and select punctuation or symbol exists in eight visually unique versions – one default and seven alternates. An advanced OpenType feature automatically substitutes between these variants, creating visual variation and a handcrafted appearance. By cycling glyphs based on their context, the system avoids repetition and introduces a sense of randomness. While not entirely foolproof, it promotes visual uniqueness. Users can also manually choose alternates via Stylistic Sets. The feature is available in any professional design software that supports the OpenType “Contextual Alternates” setting.
